I bet we have passed each other on odd occasions - ships in the .....
We share many of the same haunts - I had a look at your Flickr photos.
Have you seen the albino Sika yet?

I am sorry i took so long to reply.I look after my grandchildren during the holidays and by the time they go home i am to knackered to even turn the computer on.
In answer to your question,no.i have heard tell of them but have never spotted one.I spend lots of time at Arne and always look out for one.The same thing in the New Forest. As you have seen my flicr pics, you will have seen the white hart.I got a bit obsessed trying to track him down.He is not an albino, just a very pale strain of fallow deer.I am looking forward to the rut this year because now i know where he hangs out,i expect to get some pictures of him doing his head banging thing, although, looking at the nasty scar on his flank,i don't think he did too well last time.
If you are ever at Arne and see this mad old creeping about the undergrowth, please say hello

Holton Lee is where the albino sika are, they are in the reed beds bordering Lychett Bay during daylight, but roam every where come late pm.

Thank you for the info about Lychett Bay and Holton,i shall certainly make the trip there.I am a dawn person, but i expect their behavior is much the same as the evening.
I must say i was really impressed with your your pictures, which programme do you use to do your art work? I use Gimp because it is free and fairly simple to understand,it has to be,as i havn't a clue what i am doing most of the time

I use photo-shop, but not the professional version - too expensive.
The digitised stuff is mainly experimental. I will slowly upload more straight photos - including some of the Arne herd.
If you go to Holton Lee I should ring the office first so that the duty staff will be aware of you and not get too spooked.

I did wonder about Holton Lee,i looked it up and found it to be a place for disabled artists.I was going to ring and check that it was ok to go lurking about there,i would much rather get permission.
I can't afford Photo shop pro either.I do some work with my local community arts group and i needed a decent photo editing suite,it was an American on line pal that recomended Gimp,he thought it almost as good and as i said earlier, free! I look forward to seeing your pictures of the deer.

That must be very rewarding In my case, give me a lump of clay and what you would get is a different shaped lump of clay, only lumpier
I used to paint a bit,but i am not very good at it,i find it passes away the long winter nights and days when i can't get out in the countryside.
I went to Bolderwood in the New Forest yesterday evening, there seemed to be quite a few white Roe Deer about.I left it a bit too late to take any reasonable pictures as it was almost dark, still,i enjoyed just being there.
Going back to Holten Lee,do you work full time there?
