I will leave my greeting to help you find you way around the site again!
Welcome, welcome, welcome, to the wonderful site of H2G2 (otherwise known as hootoo - you will see this word a lot). I am an <./>ACE</.>, and I'm here to help you settle into your new home
H2G2 is a living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything, and it's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer Review. Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information on that.
I've created a little list of links, just for you, so click here <./>A4992357</.> and have a look at them (actually the links are my daughter's...but hey!! Hootoo is one big family )
If you click on each link, they will take you to parts of hootoo no sane person should ever go alone on this site.....
......but as it seems no one here is sane, it doesn't matter does it!
Have a look around, pop into my personal space and read some conversations that I have on the go at the moment and you will see how things work. Don't be frightened to jump in on conversations, hootooers don't bite (well, some of them do, but I'll steer you well clear of those), just be aware of the thread you are reading and whether or not it is a private conversation between two people.
Remember, if you get lost, shout for help and hopefully I'll be around to give you a helping hand. In case I'm not around, just leave a message here <./>ACE</.> and someone will be with you just as soon as they can. Failing that, just click on MY SPACE on the left hand side of your screen and you'll get back to your personal space.
Remember, I'm here to help.
lil xxx

Thank you for the welcome! I love the fact that your daughter is computer literate enough to do the links!
My kids would rather look at Mario Bros...
However, they all know the importance of 42 and they understand the need for cups of tea. If my parents had only done so much....
Welcome back!

Vicki Virago is my youngest daughter, she introduced me to Hootoo when I planned to give up smoking, that was 2 years ago and I stopped smoking about 6 weeks later
You make certain your little treasures bring you plenty of bars too..

Hey Lil,
Should probably mention that my little darlings are 7 and 9 and they don't seem to be able to read (despite my best efforts!) If I am lucky enough to have a big bar of bourneville, they will eat it!My Uncle mentioned Hootoo to me years ago and never told me his screen name....
Anyway, you stopped smoking? Fantastic! (am a smoker, can't or won't give up)
Am still mad though....

Sash, been there .. done that and worn the T-shirt!!
Mine are now 30 and 32.. I must put that link about them back into my PS.. I never wanted to give up .. and I only did it the once. If I resume smoking now, I don't think I could try giving up again..
btw, my Mum used to eat Mars bars in the loo so she could get some peace while she ate it!!
Welcome back!

Know the one! I have loads of chocolate stash places around the house and have worked out that the children hate chocolate gingers (shame!)
Also have worked out that when I am 40 the youngest will be old enough to babysit the oldest (doesn't that tell you loads?). Love them to bits though.
Happy days to come....
Welcome back!

Enjoy them while you can.. they soon grow up and leave the nest..
...I used to love Fry's Chocolate Creme.. and no one was ever going to share it!!
Welcome back!

Hi Lil,
I am enjoying them really! My boy did a maths test today designed for the children a year older than him and scored full marks, which not even the older children did. I was so smug walking out of school! The headmistress stopped me to tell me. What really got me though was that he said it was my help with his homework that got him through! How cool. I thought teaching was a last resort, but maybe it's a talent.
Who can tell?
I still love Fry's Chocolate Creme, and fortunately the children don't. I had forgotten....

Isn't it lovely when you get some form of recognition from the school
When VC was doing her GCSE's and coursework, I was surprised that she hadn't been shown how to set out her work, so I sat down with her and explained a few things.
A few months later, at parents' evening, her English teacher said they had noticed a big difference in her work and asked what I had done. I was pretrified in case they thought I had done her homework for her (she could have lost all her marks), but they said "No, we can tell when parents have interferred. What you have done has improved her work across the board!"
It was enough to improve her grades to 'O' level standard...
I deserved a huge bar of for that!
Welcome back!

Oh absolutely it's lovely! They got their school reports this week. The boy told me not to cry when I opened it as his friend's Mum burst into tears when she read her son's! Luckily there was no need for hysterics as they appear to be doing ok. Apparently my boy has a 'fine mathematical brain'. That's great, but I have no idea where he gets it from! I only hope I never need to help him understand the maths at gcse level as I'm not sure I could. The babby's teacher loves her and thinks that because she is bright she won't try to work through problems and she can get a bit tearful. After telling rthe teacher to feel free to call her a big girl's blouse I sat down and explained that tears should be saved for special occasions (like when daddy forgets about mother's day and goes to the pub, or when everyone has forgotten your birthday) I think she understood....
And yes, for getting your daughter through the exams, you deserve many chocolate gingers!
Welcome back!

These are memories you will cherish.. and then embarrass them by telling future boy/girlfriends all about it!!
I still do it in Hootoo.. I really must tell VV's friends of the night she drank mead!!

Hi Lil,
Have been in competition for the computer lately. Funny how the kids always win that...
I have a list, for every time one of my children makes an arse of me in a public place, for every time my family feels its ok to extract the urine and for every time they think I won't notice...
Anyway, they have embarrassed me enough! I am getting my petty revenge for all that. My son is starting to worry about what it might be like to have an embarrassing mother. My daughter still thinks it is amusing to set me up and watch me fall.
From a completely evil point of view, I cannot wait to embarrass them in public. I know it is only a matter of time...
Welcome back!

There are a list of smileys below the reply box..
Ooohh.. just tell stories about them here, or in your Journals, that will shut the little blighters up!!
I keep threatening VV with the time she drank mead!!!
Welcome back!

Thankyou!
(for the smiley thing!)Still can't find the smiley thing, don't know whether the computer has gone 'pete tong' (in the absence of swear words) or whether it it was a result of changing skin. (You could get a whole book out of this!)
Cannot publish stories about them without their consent, they are too young.
Give me 5 years!!
Welcome back!

If you are using Plain skin, I don't think you can use smileys..
I only really know about Brunel... sowwy..
