Hi Dancing Tree.
Thanks for the offer. An advert on your page would be appreciated. The Fun Run Starter Page will always be at:
http://www.h2g2.com/A130852
This is its home page which will always lead to the latest Fun Run.
Hopefully there will be a new Fun Run every two to three weeks - I decided on a home page so the links will not have to be altered each time.
As for the display on some pages The Goo bar seems to play up since the intro of the guideML I agree is better than and will use it in future. It seems most trouble comes when netscape is used. IE5 in the main displays correctly.
BTW Thanks for the reviews - I know the guys/gals appreciate your comments.

Yes, we (I) do. Thank you much for participating. I know how busy you guys -must- be.
Yes, Veggie... I'm running my mouth again.
Thanks for the offer
The Dancing Tree Posted Sep 27, 1999
The links are now on my page. These will stay there unless you cancel the scheme or moves to another location.
Thanks for the offer

I concur with the Mouse! Thanks for the links and the reviews Tree.
May your xylem continue to phloem!
Thanks for the offer

Sorry for butting in like that, but I'm trying to meet people here and it's a little overwhelming!
Thanks for the offer

Beginning: very sensible post by Vegiman.
Now: very odd and confusing thread. How does one xylem a phloem, or whatever. I get I need by Big Book of Long Words and Phrases, or BBOLWAP for short. It doesn't sound like much, but it might just do the trick.
Erm ...
Thanks for the offer

As I said - no I won't repeat myself, apart from Uncle Sam BTW Hi, the other two are a couple of over zealous participants in the Fun Run. Ignore them they excite very easily.
Now Calm down you two or I'll take you out of the next run.
Thanks for you patients DT

PS If you have any influence over Mark Moxom - could you find out why we have had no mention on the front page. He promised we would have a mention - that was a week and a half ago.
Thanks Veg

I will try using my fabled psychic powers. If that doesn't work I'll e.mail him!
Thanks for the offer

Xylem and phloem are the vascular systems found in trees. (At least that's what I learned in biology!)
Anyway, it's kind of a silly joke we used to say in class. "How's the xylem, still phloem (ie. flowin')!
It's like saying to a mammal, "How's the heart, still pumping?" Except it doesn't have the same impact because of the total lack of word play. (You wouldn't say, "How's the heart, still artery?" Because it wouldn't make ANY sense.)
Not that the xylem and phloem joke makes any sense either...
That's the last time I use a biology joke in mixed company - I promise!
BTW, has anyone seen my mitochondria? I don't seem to have the energy I used to!
(Sorry!)
Thanks for the offer

To follow this up: Mark has informed Yoz, but he has his hands full with getting the servers to behave properly. Check back on October the 11th when Peta starts as community editor and these things should happen a tad quicker!
Thanks for the offer

Thanks for info DT - It looks like I will have to some heavy spamming like the last fun run - Jim has changed the coding on the pages to allow us to use a dirct posting to a forum from the page itself so not all is lost.
Catcha later
Uncle Sam - I will sort out that request for adding info to your page at the weekend - thanks for the offer,
vegiman

Uhm... Care to explain that change by Jim or even better, point us to where we can learn of it?
Oh... and stop telling everyone I'm insane. It's -much- more fun when they learn it on their own!
Thanks for the offer
vegiman:-) Posted Sep 30, 1999
your not insane Nonnie - just over zealous - this can lead to insanity so beware.
The form posting - an example is on page:
http://www.h2g2.com/A175844
The page asks you not to try - but be my guest have a go. It takes a little specialised programing - not difficult - just haven't got time to explain just now.
catcha later.

Don't worry about it! I swiped it off another page!
Is that legal to do, or do some folks get cheesed off if I creatively "borrow" something from their pages?
Thanks for the offer
vegiman:-) Posted Sep 30, 1999
It's not something you can pinch of anothers page - even if you pinch it by copying the source - the correct hidden numbers must be aligned to the required forum or it will not work. Bruce who helped me by experimenting with the coding may be able to give you info - although he may just offer to do it for you.

Sorry Uncle Sam - you are refering to the Fun Run Advert - I misunderstood. I thought you were refering to the new forum posting coding that can be used on a page.
Thanks U/Sam
