Just thought I'd drop by and say hello (I just read your post on SPEWS)
I'd also like to bring to your attention that there is an old Amiga game called Hillsea Lido, most famous for the fact that it is set in Hilsea but with an extra 'l'.
I also agree with your stance on Babylon 5 and Star Wars.

What the heck is the Hiilsea Lido game about?
Actually, I go past the real Hilsea Lido every day, and I've never seen it in use, although you can allegedly hire it for private functions. I don't know if the pool is actually still maintained or not.
Are you from around Portsmouth?
If not, here is a picture of Hilsea Lido...

and I am approximately two thirds of the way across, and just below the half way line on this one.

Where are you? (bash in your postcode, zoom in, and post the URL below the map)

The URL multimap generated was absurdly long, and it's a terribly dull urban area to look at :> I'm currently moving house from one end of Doncaster to the other. I've been using multimap quite a lot recently - I've been printing out the surrounding area in 1/300 scale for a wargame called Ogre :> I've got this desire to see huge tanks lumbering into Doncaster to blow it up.
The game Hillsea Lido had you in charge of the seafront entertainment - you had to build icecream stalls and so forth. At the end of the week you arranged a terribly surreal theatre performance. Er but the real Hilsea Lido doesn't appear to be a seafront :>

The map URL appears below the map, and isn't clickable. It should be no longer than the one I posted.
As for sea, that thing that looks like a river is Port Creek, which runs around the north side of Portsea Island (Portsmouth is on an island).
Follow it to the southwest, and you'll go under the M275 motorway bridge, and into Portsmouth Harbour. Zoom out a couple of times, and move south and you'll find the south side of the island. The bit that sticks out at the bottom is South Parade Pier. The beach looks sandy, but is mainly stones.
Some of the stones are artificial. A millenium art project was run in 2000 to create a million new pebbles. People could make a pebble to their own design, and it would be stamped with a unique number, and then baked, and put on the beach somewhere. One of these days when I'm really, really bored, I might go and see if I can find any. This is probably a completely futile task. I might put it into a scavenger hunt I'm planning to organise as a charity event...

Ah, I see it

Despite being right next to the police station (just next to the sand-coloured car park in the NW of the picture), this area is one of the worst for crime in Doncaster. I'll be pleased to move out!
I wonder if a small collection of of those pebbles will be worth anything in time? Considering that all the stamps on them will eventually erode away...
