Hi Woodpidgeon!
Just to let you know I'm subbing your great entry 'Hurling - Irish field sport' - link to the new version is here A5403953.
I've done very little to it, so I hope you're happy with what has been done. I've really just made the explanation of terms consistent; words in Irish/Gaelic have been italicised on their first use only, and terms English speakers would be familiar with (such as point) put into single quotes, not italicised. This seemed the most natural way to introduce them, and the way you did it for most of the entry anyway.
I plan to scour hootoo for more links tomorrow, and return it asap (within 48 hours) unless there is anything you're unhappy with. If you'd like to give it a 'final' check, that would be great; post me any last-minute amendments. I'll post again when it's returned.
Thank you for giving me such an easy ride

Hey no problem Sk, thanks
I am beginning to question the size of a hurley - it's about hip-height for an average size man: would that be 1.3m, or a bit too big? It seems 110cm might be a better size.

Thanks Sk, much appreciated. The All-Ireland Hurling final is on this Sunday if you're interested. It's the biggest game of the year, and should be available in Britain on some of the sports channels. It promises to be a good one.

Hmm, working 8-3 Sunday, so will check the schedules. Amazing what you find out about when you're a sub, eh?

My current county of residence is playing in it. If they win this place will be unbearable for a few weeks..

Oh, Cork or Galway.
Only it's a bit too late now . Cork won fairly comfortably, 1-21 to Galway's 1-16. They have the strongest back line in the country at the moment, their most impressive hurler a half-Fijian native with the impressive Irish name of "Seán Óg O'hAilpín".
Key: Complain about this post
