While I don't agree with all you've said during the recent controversy, you seemed to me to be the person who showed the most independence, disagreeing and agreeing with what you want to. I just wanted to say that I respect that

No problem Jodan - I would be happy to have you as a friend. The thing about these controversies is that they add energy into Peer Review but there is always a risk of alienating people - sometimes really excellent researchers - which is in none of our interests. I think that the best we can often get out of these issues is to examine our personal commitment and approach, and see what can be improved with our own style. It's difficult in a forum like H2G2 to tell people what they need to do, they have to figure it out for themselves.
