But some families are lucky enough to be in touch with the Easter Bunny as well. We are. Our family Easter Bunny tradition includes putting some salt under your bed, because the Easter Bunny loves salt. When he finds salt under a childs bed he will leave an easter egg full of sweets and sometimes maybe a little silly gift.

Our youngest are turning 18 in november, and before leaving for tonights party, they reminded each other not to forget the salt for the Easter Bunny....

Wow - thats some amazing customs you have! It has become very commercialised here. No customs really, apart from a chocolate egg on Easter day.

An Easter Bunny tradition is easy to start, if your kids put some salt under their beds next easter, I´m sure the Bunny will come for a visit. He can´t resist the salt...

You know, I never thought of that!

Spring is really on the go here now. Our birches are sprouting and the primroses and celandines and stitchworts are blooming in the hedgerows. That, and the fact that the resident woodpigeons (from where I came up with my nickname) in the cypress behind our house are "at it". The racket that they make is incredible!

I really must wake up early some morning and listen to the dawn chorus. Now is the time!

The Easter Bunny - salt tradition will spread over Ireland, I´m sure...

Well now is the time for being out and about isn´t it! We have daffodils and tulips in flower now, birds are really busy. We have a couple of magpies with an impressing nest near by. I do worry about them though as they are being harassed by two young cats...

It is a wonderful time of year, the best

You'll think it is awful of me to say this, but magpies are not my favourite bird. They are as bad as cats, as they destroy other bird's nests and steal their chicks. We have far too many of them here. That, and woodpigeons (shhhh....!)

Okej, since I´m no bird expert I didn´t know that they were such a malice, so maybe they are just getting what they deserve then. Makes me feel a little bit better about the situation in the pear tree.
