A small dilemma. What do you think?

Ok, here's the situation.
My sis is getting married in Canada in a few months, and I am debating whether to bring my 7 year old son over with me. If I bring him I am giving him a chance to see a bit more of the world and to open his eyes. He's a bright lad and I think he would love it. It also gives me a connection with my immediate family while I am there. My other sis is bringing her family with her, so he'll have some companions to play with.
On the reverse side, I don't think my sis who is getting married is all too happy about too many kids being there. She's concerned that we'll be too distracted on our kids to enjoy ourselves while we are over there. Bringing my son will probably also limit any freedom I might have in terms of going out for a drink in the evening etc. I've also got a feeling his school will be none too pleased if I take him out of school for 7 days.
Also, my wife and I are separating and he'll know this by then, so I've got to think about what he thinks if I go away for a week without him.
I'm not sure what to do. What do you think?
