Hello Woodpigeon,
Are your twins born yet?
I am a mother of a pair of 17 year (on wednesday next week)old twins. A boy and a girl. Don´t believe all those who are telling you how hard it´s going to be. It´s not true. Of course it is a lot of work with two babies at the same time, but after the first year, it is an advantage to have kids at the same age.

I see that you live in Cork, Ireland. Do you know a guy called Gearoid, who attended a wedding in Sweden this summer? If you do, pass on regards from "Auntie E" will you?!smiley - winkeye

Good luck with the twins, you belong to the chosen ones who are trusted with such gift!smiley - magic

Hello Issybelle,

Many thanks for the best wishes! We have been inundated by people telling us that we'll be so busy we wont be able to do anything for years, so thanks very much indeed for giving me the other side of the story! smiley - hug

We are really in final countdown mode now. My wife is not officially due until early January, but we can't see this happening by a long-shot. It's really uncomfortable for her now, and if the kids are going to double in size, I don't know where she will find room to accomodate them smiley - smiley She is 32 weeks gone now, so that is great news in itself.

smiley - wow Cork is a big enough place (and Sweden is even bigger smiley - laugh), so it's unlikely I know this Gearóid fellow. If I did I would certainly pass on your regards! That said, I *do* know a Gearóid quite close to me, so you never know! Things like that happen all the time around here! smiley - smiley

I was in Uppsala a few years ago for a night on the rip with two mad Swedish lads. I had a great time there. Sweden (at least the teeny proportion of it that I saw) is really beautiful. After seeing the Northern Lights a few days ago I want to move there permanently!

I'll let you know when we hear news! Thanks so much again for your best wishes.

Thats what I was thinking, that sometimes the world turns out to a small place, from time to time you stumble over the most peculiar connections with people.
I met a whole bunch of very nice Irish people this summer at my niece´s wedding, since she married an Irish guy, they live in Dublin. Ray, my niece´s husband, studied in Cork so there´s the connection, one of his friends from Cork is this Gearoid. These people are about the same age as you -around 30.

And you never know, sometimes the world is a small place.

If you need any "twin-advice" in the future, you are welcome. I can imagine that your wife is having a bit of a difficult time, I remember that it felt like my body was filled with babies... It wasn´t easy to sleep comfortably, or put sock and shoes on...smiley - smiley

Hi Izzybelle!

Oh she is feeling exactly like that at the moment! It's impossible to understand quite frankly how she could fit anything more in there! We just bought a car today to fit us all in, so the preparations are well and truly underway.

Have you ever been to Ireland yourself?

Oh a car to fit you all!!!? Six pigeons!? That has to be big car...

No I haven´t been to Ireland yet. I´d love to come, since I have this romantic image of Ireland beeing emerald green with rolling hills and beautiful beaches, Connemara ponies, Guinness, pubs, friendly people singing "Wild Rover"...smiley - winkeye I was supposed to visit Dublin this autumn, but it has been a bit too expensive to fly from Gothenburg, maybe I will take my son in the spring, next year. Hopefully

Are you waiting up to see the lunar eclipse?

I am I hope we will be able to anything. It´s cloudy again... Thats the down side of living close to the Atlantic; wet, cloudy, useless winters.
Our time is in spring and summer.

Sounds like all is going well with your viewing! Good news! smiley - ok

I like the night sky in winter, when we get a chance to see it. Like you, we get a lot of cloud and rain here, but it tends to pass in waves, and there are enough clear nights to make it all worthwhile.

You know a lot already about Ireland! Well, if you are coming over, let me know. If I know of any place you are going I can try to give you more information. I know Ryanair have made travel here much less expensive, although I wouldn't say that prices are too different to Sweden these days, unfortunately. I love the landscape here - particularly the wilds of Connemara and The Burren. Me and my wife try to get away to it as often as is feasible which is er.. not that often! smiley - smiley
