Hi Prideth,
Many thanks indeed! Yes, my wife is in her 30th week. All is still going well - one or two minor scares along the way, but overall the little'uns are doing well. We still haven't a clue what we are going to call them, what with having to look after 2 other young'uns!
Sorry to hear about Scotland today!
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!

So pleased that all's well with your babbs You're certainly going to have your hands full! I wish you all the luck in the for the coming birth! You said you didn't have names yet, do you know whether they're two boys, two girls, or one of each?
for your condolences with regards to Scotland's record defeat by France in the rugby. It's "NOT" a record we should be proud of! It is shameful! I noticed you're Irish, they have been doing great! Good luck for tomorrow's game against Argentina!
Prideth
Congratulations!!!

Thanks a lot Prideth,
The country is gearing up for the match tonight - we have had a good run over the last few months, so fingers are crossed!
Hey, not to worry! At least you're Scottish, and not Namibian! , was that one heck of a defeat or what?
As for the kiddies, we do know what they will be, but I am sworn to secrecy by my wife! Because they are identical, they will be same-sex. It's going to be very strange - I know that already. It came as a big shock for us when we found out, and the time has gone so quickly since then.
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!

Hi Woodpigeon
I'm watching the match now, and it's really tight. Very tense game! Come on the Irish!!!
Namibia's 142 - 0 defeat by Australia is one h*** of a hammering! Ouch! You're right, I'm so glad it wasn't us!!!
Well, your info on the twins means it's a 50/50 chance of boys or girls then. Ha, ha, ha!
Prideth
Congratulations!!!

I slept in - now what kind of patriot am I!
I heard it was a good game. It's good news for the Ireland coach. I don't think they will be too worried now if the Aussies give us a drubbing.
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!

Here's hoping!
Went to see Finding Nemo today with the little lad - he didn't like the shark scene too much but other than that he loved it. It was his first time to the cinema, so it was a big treat for him.
I'm also busy coming up with another edited guide entry - I was frantically writing it down this morning - not Hogweed unfortunately - I will get to it if I get a chance!
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!

Hi Woodpigeon
I'd heard that Finding Nemo was a terrific new kids film. yer lad didnae like the bit. They're truly amazing creatures, that is. Watched a fabulous Natural World programme on Great Whites on Sunday evening on BBC2. Did you catch it yourself? The bit that I found fascinating, being an otternut, was that the Great Whites don't like the taste of the Sea Otters! Thank goodness for them!!!
My husband and I aren't big cinema goers, but won't miss the Lord of the Rings films! Fabulous movies!
No hints as to what your new entry will be? Ha, ha, ha! As I'm a *Newbie* on h2g2, I've only done two entries so far: Eurasian Otter A1319456 (1st one, and it was amazingly recommended!) and on Friday I completed The 13 Species of Otter A1913906. I couldn't believe that no-one had written anything on otters on h2g2 before.
Anyhoo, must fly. Speak to you again soon I hope.
Prideth
P.S. I'd love to join your Living Earth Society, but, unfortunately, I'm stuck with limited online time (dial-up) at the mo'.
Congratulations!!!

I must take a look at your edited entries! I saw an otter a few months ago on a beach a few miles from my house! A big lad he was too. From his tracks, he seems to have been playing in the sand before I arrived. I was really amazed, especially since they are such a rare sight. Bill Oddie claims he has only seen two otters in the wild in 30/40 years of nature trekking.
I'm a bit of a nature lover myself, but my interests tend to be all over the place!
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!
Prideth - Queen dragon - protector of otters, and otternuts alike Posted Oct 28, 2003
Weren't you lucky to see an adult dog otter, and to live so near to the beach! *turns green with envy* *LOL* I have been lucky enough to see otters in the wild (nocturnal riverine ones too!) on a few occasions. I also spent time surveying for them around the Clyde, Avon, Nethan rivers and it's burns. It's so wonderful to see them recolonising their previous ranges!
I too have interests of a very broad nature, but, I must admit , I do tend to get overly passionate, and carried away when I start talking about my piscavarious buddies! Much to the dismay of my angler friend who's just lost a load of his hatchery trout to a very clever adult male otter. He loves them really! Ha, ha, ha! At least, that's what I try to convince him of!

Congratulations!!!

Hi Prideth,
Sounds like you really know your stuff! I read your otter article and it was excellent. Best of luck with your new article.
I am also doing some research for another article at the moment - it kept me up half the night, but I still have some more work to do on it before I submit it to Peer Review.
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!

Hiyah Woodpigeon
So pleased you enjoyed my entry, and for the good luck wishes for my latest one.
Congrats again for getting your Japanese Knotweed entry onto the Front Page! And good luck with your current entry, I'll look forward to seeing it when it appears in Peer Review. You must be shattered. I hope you catch some tonight.
Prideth
Congratulations!!!

Thanks a lot Prideth
I was very happy with my latest entry until I did some further reading last night - now I will have to do a bit of revising over the weekend, I think.
Have you taken a look at the sunspots? They are amazing - I set up my binoculars to take a look at them on Monday. Because you can't look directly at the sun, you need to project the image onto a card or a wall. Apparently we should expect auroras tonight - I have never seen them, and it is one of the things I would love to see if I ever got a chance.
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!
Prideth - Queen dragon - protector of otters, and otternuts alike Posted Oct 29, 2003
I'm afraid I didn't see the sun spots Woodpigeon. I am fascinated with astronomy, but don't get much of a chance to pursue my interest in it . I always seem to get bogged down with other things. Isn't that always the way though? I hope you do manage to get seeing auroras. *crosses fingers for Woodpigeon*
Prideth
Congratulations!!!
Woodpigeon Posted Oct 29, 2003
Hi Prideth - well, if you get a chance, its worth a look. They should be around for another few days yet - they move quite slowly across the surface of the sun.
I have been interested in astronomy since oooh, I was a young 'un. I'm still interested in it, but since my kids arrived I have taken a more active interest in all things natural and the local environment. I never thought I would get fun and enjoyment out of identifying trees, flowers, birds and even rock formations, but that's life for you!
The weather is pretty here so here's hoping for clear skies tonight!
Woodpigeon
Congratulations!!!

Mornin' Woodpigeon
Did you manage to get clear skies last night? The weather here is too! Foggy, so no luck here.
I think it's a wonderful trick of nature, that when new life appears, (your kids) it seems to spark an interest in all life here on , our beautiful planet. Oooh, a bit deep for so early in the morning! *LOL* But you know what I mean, (I hope?). It must be an innate survival instinct methinks . The more knowledge you have of your environment, the better the chances of successful survival, Apart from all that, as you say, it's great fun discovering and learning about the species, geology, etc that share our .
*Prideth not yet quite coherent this early*
Congratulations!!!
Woodpigeon Posted Oct 30, 2003
Yep - I saw the northern lights last night for the first time in my life. It was brief, but beautiful. It was a dull green colour, and somewhat like moonlight. It clouded over really quickly. But hey, I'm happy.

Congratulations!!!
