Well, now that I have finally changed my tagline (as a result of doing a quiz on the BBC news site that officially pronounces me to be "the makings of a propeller head"), I can finally announce that the tune was "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish" - not that even writing out the notes helped me so much. I quite like the tune for some reason. Maybe because I quite liked the movie. Dunno..

I think this is where I have to come clean about something (too much mayonnaise I think)...I've never read the books or watched the film
*climbs into a deep dark hole so no-one can shout at me*

Holy Zarquon! No Vogons, no Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters, no Infinite Improbability Drives in your life?
Tsk...
One hundred lines, on my desk, tomorrow morning!

When I was a kid, I used to run around humming out the Star Wars tune like so "Bum Bum Bababa Bum Bum Bababa Bum Bum..." At least I did so until my aunt overheard me and gave me a MASSIVE slagging about it.

If I ever did anything wrong, mum would slap us round the backs of our legs...you know, just so the fingers get it as the hand flicks past...didn't half sting too!!!!
And just so's you know <./>U551837</.> She's my mother so you can go shout at her

My two littlest fella's are *super*sensitive. All I have to do is let a roar out of me and they are bawling crying. Even hoovers and foodmixer cause them to quiver. My eldest is made of sterner stuff - you roar at him and he roars back at double the volume...

You can't shout at my (nearly) 4 year old niece because it makes her cry. You then get told off for making her cry in the first place. Snot my fault she did summit naughty

Ach - I get this the whole time from the grandparents: "leave them alone - their only little things", but then you remember how they were when we were little people. I swear to BoB, one of the most common memories of my mum was her yelling at me! Now she wouldn't raise her voice to her grandkids if they were nailing her hands to the floor with a Hilti-gun...
