I don't really *do* email I'm afraid, sorry! I get so many emails that I never get time to deal with them all, especially as I've just got back from holiday. 
Quite happy to chat online though.

hmmm...that could be a tad difficult.
It's regarding a mutual friend and I don't really wish to discuss it on site...if you see what I mean.

Ah, I thought that's what it might be, and that's why I didn't want to email. I don't really want to get involved, as I'm not risking my friendship (which has wobbled alarmingly in the past) with someone I think a lot of to talk about them behind their back, even if it is well-intentioned.

I was only going to ask if you had her number so you could ring her and check she was ok.
She hasn't mailed me so am quite concerned.
I'm sure everything will be fine though.
