Hi Mina
Slight problem with the edited version entry... it was subbed by Zarquon's Singing Fish who appears to have left the site. We need to be super-squeaky clean about permissions and though I know she'd give permission we can't afford to have someone spot that she hasn't.
Do you have your own version anywhere?
Thanks
Ben

Is it not online? I won't have an up to date version on my computer because I usually copy the Edited version over it.
Most subs do barely any work to my entries because they rarely need it, so I would argue she has no copyright in the EG version at all.

In practical terms I'd agree with you, that we shouldn't need permission from the sub-editor. But we have to be squeaky-squeaky clean.
This is the version I found: A3687735

I guess I deleted a few entries when something on h2g2 royally pissed me off at some point.
The Edited version is the only one that exists, if you prefer not to use it because a sub maybe added a couple of commas then that's your decision. Even a book author who goes through editing still owns the copyright to their own work.

As I said, personally I agree with you, particularly given just what a sweetheart Zarquon's Singing Fish is. But as I also said, we need to be cleaner than clean.
I'll take a look through your other entries, and see what else I can find.
I'm really sorry about this, Mina. It's annoying all round.
