2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Started conversation Dec 1, 2004
Hi Not sure if you still do this stuff on the message boards, but I thought I'd try you first I've been trying to post on some of the message boards using my '2legs' I.E., this, account, and can't seem to do so, and can't seem to persuede the 'system' to send out another E-mail to confirm my E-mail address, which might be what I need to do.
It on the message boards rejects my log in name and password; but when I tried to reregister on the boards, with my username and password, it said they are already taken, yet wouldn't let me log in with them can you help, or direct me to a 'man or woman who 'can'' ?

I can help, but I'm not in the office today (I'm on a course). The Messageboards don't use SSO, but you might still be able to use the same log in name. If it says it's already taken, and it wasn't by you, then you'll have to chose another one. It's not case sensitive, so you could try a different combination of cases.
If that dosn't help, you'll have to wait until my next break.

Sorted! I went and tried logging in again with my username and password from here, just in case I'd maged to type it in wrong.... It still didn't work, so I must have typed it right, I normally do....
Then, and I don't know why it occured to me; I typed in my username (which hasn't changed since before SSO) and my password that I used to use before SSO (it was too short I think so I changed it when SSO came in) and it logged me in 'I love it when a plan comes togehter'

It probably worked because DNA used to use the same database as the messageboards, so it recognised you.
The messageboards aren't getting SSO in their current form, but when they migrate to DNA, they'll be migrating to SSO at the same time.
Which should be fun.
Glad you are in though, would it be polite to ask which board you're interested in?

You can* ask and I will tell!:: On the cancel thread the other day, Albatross mentioend that badgers featured on the Radio two show hosted by Wogan, (I don't listen to this myself), and that he thought Wogan had stolen my badgers.
Wondering albatross then put a request on the message board asking for the badgers that Wogan had, could be returned to 2legs.
I wanted to post a reply to that.... Now of course, I've got meself able to post on them, I could be found in other bits too at some point; another distraction from work, as if I needed anohter....
of the whole of today, I've now managed nearly* a whole hour of PowerPoint presentation prepeartion, and only managed about four slides, and I'm not happy with half of them Well a quick* return to H2G2, then a coffee, then a cigarette and I'll be refressed enough for another half an hours solid work

Did you get all your work done?
The community areas of bbc.co.uk do seem *very* addictive! I don't go home and read the messageboards after hours in the same what that I do h2g2, but it has been known on occasion.

Addictive? naa, they'l be telling us next that H2G2 is addictive and takes one away from ones work I've got the powerPoint pretty much together now; going to E-mail it to my lodger today whilst he is at work he can hav ea flick through it for us got to finish the Portfolio still and the learning journal but this afternoon the main thing is to get out to get some presents for people on my course; need to go to bank put in a couple of cheques, query the double DirectDebit they shouldn't have done and then off to Boots where hopefully I can get most of the s then off to Majestic wines to get booze some of which will be for people and need to get links taken out of my new watch srap, and find some Christmas cards and somwhere to buy a couple box of choc and if I remember and can find somwhere that does them, and I'm not bored to death of shopping by this point, need to get a CO monitor and pwerhaps a smoke detector too for me house tomorrow afternoon is the second* attemp of the British Gas people to come and service my boiler; they apparently 'couldn't gain access' last time; strange I was in and waiting for them all b****y afternoon ought to sort out train times too today for Bristol and I am going to have a go at some point at putting narration onto the PowerPoint presentation
