Southern California
Posted Aug 17, 1999
Well, I've just spent three months in southern california. Suprisingly, there has been no smog, while the eastern coast of the United States has had its most poluted (and driest) summer ever. The sky is blue, the ocean and the mountains are beautiful.
Unfortunately, the real stuff ends there. The green plants and the people are both artificial. While the weather is beautiful, it is best to spend enough time out here to realize you are actually in the middle of the desert with millions of people with the only real source of water hundreds of miles away.
I'll stick to the east any day. We have real trees there.
Disclaimer: do not apply this to northern california, which is cool(tm).

I'm curious about this site. They want us to write journal entries, yet the privacy policy is as secure as a house made of swiss cheese. They also reserve the right to publish anything we put here. Hmmm. Free content for them. Very clever. I'll try to give you something interesting.
So I'll be able to tell you about : living amongst impeachment-crazed law professors for a year, a cross country trip in a month, and general rants. "Editorial Content," sure, but if its good enough to be published I'm sure as heck not going to give it to you guys for free. The site should give us free stock in the Brooklyn Bridge while their at it, god forbid the magic words IPO. Nonetheless, its a creative idea, and will do my best to contribute. And I still need a piano.
