By removing the Douglas Adams quote you are creating work for yourself as unike the original entry A999011 there now are six phrases which paid reference to the quate which now make the author ME!!! Look the most un-hoopist frood in modern literature. The quote contextualises some of the other content and was also the inspiration for the article.

Now you can come out from behind the desk and put it back in please. I know Ashley may not have read the books and therefore has not read the quote, which is the opening paragraph, but I feel that a lot of researchers out there would expect it. And leaving the entyr as you have they can see it has been extracted.

Actually, DD, it was me. I have read the books, listened to the plays and seen the TV show and while I know the minor relevance digital watches have to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, as the <./>writing-guidelines</.> remind us we're not looking for entries written for the sole reason to make references to Douglas' work here.

The entry might well mean something to Douglas' fans - and indeed they might expect to see a reference to Douglas' work here - but as we regularly mention, we're not a fan site. Leaving the reference in could potentially confuse non-fans, while taking the main quote out means it reads well enough on its own but still has a few subtle references that the fans can enjoy. I honestly think the research is strong enough to not need Hitchhiker references to prop it up though.

Oh I know that Jimster it just reads horribly at the moment. Especially the references to neat ideas. I know it does not need the reference on the strength of the article's content. But it does need in in relation to the style of the rest of the writing I suggest is the reason I am trying to get across here.

I mean the opening paragraph as a result looks dated without the quote tying it to a particular point in time late 70's when neat wa sin common parlance. If left like this at this point it may turn readers off reading the rest. The use of other links back to quote also have the same effect.

I wrote the goddamn article and it churns me to read it at the moment.

Actually on the subject in the future delevopment para at the end I wrote that soon we would be able to buy digital watches with phones attached. In this months work update I hear that Samsung are just about to launch this. Are I a prophet in my own lunchtime.
