Thank You from Douglas' Family
Da Bensta Posted May 27, 2001
I was in floods of tears when I heard of Douglas' death,
my deepest sympathy is extended towards his family.
I met Douglas once, at a bookstore. He signed my copy of the original radio scripts. The scripts and the photo i have of me standing with him are my most cherished possesions.
Thankyou Douglas for capturing and enthralling so many,
So long and thanks for all the fish,
Michael Bennett (Alias Da_Bensta)

P.S - I am going to start a big tribute page, if anyone would like to help please email me on the address above.

Although I don't subscribe to an organized religion (and probably that's one of the reasons why I find the work of Douglas Adams so intriguing/amusing) I do believe in a "force" that holds the Universe together i.e. "42".
I also believe that sometimes great people are taken from us earlier than we expect because they are needed for higher purposes which we can't understand.
The rest of us "ordinary" people are frequently left behind scratching our heads and wondering what just happened - we were just starting to enjoy ourselves and someone changed the plan.
I don't think I'll have the privilege of encountering another D.Adams in my lifetime, but I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to experience his genius when it first emerged on the airwaves.
Key: Complain about this post
Thank You from Douglas' Family
