It looks like they actually managed to fix their mistake on the firewall, since I cannot reach AIM today. Let the guys know for me. I can still be reached over here if people want to yack at me.

OK, I shall. FYI, there is the http proxy that it uses, but if you don't want to risk it, I will let people know.

Not that it is a suprise, but it is official.

No more hockey.

I would bet that this will put a lot of teams out of business and possibly kill the league.

There is no sense in me trying to use a proxy. These guys know how to use the IDS, and they'd just block the proxy. And then they'd probably get mad at me. It's not worth it.

They're just blocking AIM over security concerns. They don't have any concern over HTTP traffic, and even if they did, there is a serious business value to some of our HTTP traffic.

Fair enough. Sucks we lost you out of the chat, but s**t happens. The sucky part about security concerns like AIM, is that those security concerns will only generally effect idiots.

I dream of a place where we test for competency before allowing people to access the internet. Where we give them a honeypot machine and see how bad they screw it up. Too many mistakes, and they are denied access to the internet.
