Hey Joe smiley - smiley

I just came across the H2G2 Caves roleplaying forum. Is it too late to sign up yet? If not, I would like to join in on it. It's been ages since the last time I played smiley - sadface

Thank you for your time,
Kheldar

Hi,

No, it's never too late smiley - smiley

Keep watching the forum. I will supply you details over ICQ a day before you are to appear. It won't be too long.

My # is 10446636

OK, I'll just keep on watching, and try to follow the story. Am I to create my own character then?

More or less... I create the backstory though. You fit in the description around it.

I know, I'm familiar with the job of DM smiley - smiley. Some DM's like to create a set of characters in advance, and just assign them though. That's why I asked.

Nah, I think you should feel comfortable with a character smiley - smiley

The backstory is something that I need to preplan, the rest is up to you smiley - smiley

I agree. That's what I always thought when I was DM-ing. Maybe give them a few restrictions or guidelines, but leave the rest up to the players.

Glad you agree.

I am a rather unorthodox DM though. I take all the rules as guidelines I use to further the plot smiley - smiley

Sorry I posted to the game without getting a character first, I wasn't being perticularly observant. Well it is Friday. Who can I be?

Unorthodox DM's are much more fun to work with. The strict ones always have their rulebook in front of them, and never ever seem to allow anything if it's not in the book smiley - sadface

Another? smiley - smiley

Wait for a while, follow the forum. I will write you a backstory to hang your character off. I will ICQ you the history when I have written it... I will then give you plenty of warning before you appear.

I'd hate that... I just use the books when I need inspiration or to look something up. The one exception is, obviously, the book that describes the world. I need to use that.

True. That's how I used to DM. Many times, I even changed the rules during the game, cause they just didn't seem to be quite right for the story.

My campaigns are based around the plot and the mysteries involved. You have to think to do well.
