If you run the Word spell checker on 'zzzz', the only suggestion it gives you is 'sex'. Someone in Micros**t has a sense of humor! Wow!

Spell checkers can be dangerous - as this Ode illustrates...
Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.
Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.
As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rare lea ever wrong.
Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no
Its letter perfect awl the weigh
My chequer tolled me sew.
....sea watt eye mine?

Brook no argument

Wednesday, 30th June, 8pm. My girlfriend has just been offered a Senior Lectureship at Oxford Brookes University. WOO HOO! Attagirl!
I was certain she would get it, as the job description could have been written for her. Watch out Oxford......Now going out to celebrate.

I spent an abortive weekend trying to see 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, but it rained, so the performance was cancelled. As soon as we left the theatre the rain stopped. Typical! Installed my parents all-singing, all-dancing Phone/FAX machine, so they can now get hold of me when I am on the Internet. Must write some articles.
