Hello ST. Long time no talk. How ya been doing? I've joined a painting group here in Memphis. It's really fun painting alongside other people. It's a real motivator.

Hiya, sounds great. I'm still doing the Art for Life course. The good news there is it's been extended again so I'm looking forward to it again.
I'm also on a more 'intense' course with the Open University, studying all things PC/IT with the intention of, hopefully, getting a Bsc Degree.
It's taking a bit of sorting as I haven't been in long term or higher education so to speak for, erm, well, a long, long time. I've never done Uni studies, Technical College during my apprenticeship days was the highest level.
Once I get this month done and dusted I'll hopefully be in a routine allowing appropriate time for study and exams etc. In the meantime things like HooToo are 'on the back burner' somewhat.
It's really great to see you so positive again, well done you.

Hiya, just yet another rough patch, I'll get over it, usually do.

Ah, I've been as sick as a dog for a couple weeks now. Coughing really bad, etc. So no artwork is getting done. *sigh* I've been to the doctor and seem to be getting better, but recovery is slow.

Yuk, that's not good. Hope you feel better real soon.

Hi ST! Yes, I'm doing pretty well. Have a painting class tomorrow, one I've never been to before. I hope it's fun.

Sounds good. It looks like my Art for Life course is to become a more or less permanent thing. I'm starting to really enjoy it more now. I've even had my latest effort, a water colour of a Golden Eagle, included in a local exhibition at the library.
I'm now having a bash at landscapes using acrylics.

I've been to two classes now. Wound up painting in acrylic for the first time. Can work a lot faster that way. I didn't have to buy my own acrylics luckily; materials were provided with the fee. I did a polka dot vase of red flowers, and a blue flower against a brown background. The teacher is nice, and it is fun to do something social.

Also have a painting group going now at church. Have been working on the same three paintings, trying to finish them -- Roses, Wizard of Oz, and Portrait of Leo.

There's a lady in my art class who is brilliant at portraits. I swear some of hers look as good as photographs. She uses both oils and acrylics.
My Golden Eagle watercolour seems to be very mobile for a still life. It's now apparently in another art exhibition at the local Doctor Johnson Museum.
It'll be there till Sept. I'm told. That's when my art classes resume as well.

Yup, have done some portraits. They are very challenging, but very rewarding.

How are the art classes going?

I've decided to learn web design! Starting by ordering a book to read through and make sure I like it.
