21st century music

Post 1

Ormondroyd

After reading your contribution to Mike A's "best singers" page, I just wanted to say what a relief it is to find that there are people on h2g2 who take an interest in modern music. I had begun to think that everyone here basically took the view that nothing worthwhile had happened since Jimi Hendrix died. I mean, I'm 40 years old and I keep coming across Researchers half my age who are into stuff that I thought had been killed off by punk in the late Seventies. Very depressing.
So it was good to see your choices, and I think it's a shame that Mike chose to respond with a breach of the h2g2 Terms And Conditions regarding offensive postings (a point which I have made to him in the same forum - not because I think you need me to fight your battles for you, but because it's part of my job as an ACE to look out for that kind of thing).
Anyway, my main reason for posting is this: I have a music page on http://www.h2g2.com/A242245 that I thought you might enjoy. It basically consists of a walloping great list of links to band and artist sites, all neatly arranged in alphabetical order. I am planning to add a section dedicated to music news sites, not least because I write for one (Music365 - http://www.music365.com ). Please take a look at my page and let me know what you think, and if you think I've left anyone important out. There are already over 500 links there, but I add to it all the time.
Just please don't disillusion me by requesting an Emerson, Lake and Palmer link. smiley - winkeye
