I'm going to the leather shop this weekend. Hoping to find a good 1.5 meter single hand and perhaps a cloak. Any sugestions?

OOooooo...leather cloak? Actually, if you are looking for an excellent cloak and aren't afraid of dropping 200-300 bucks, Morresca is really the way to go. All of their stuff is hand made, heavy wool with a hood. The cloaks are long an the clasps are nicely ornate. They have a homepage here. It's a crappy picture, but I own one of them and they really are top of the line.
I also found the guys I was telling you about here Look familiar?

Well, they are a possibility. They sure have traveled the east coast. I may have seen them, but no instant recognition. Don't suppose you have ever been to the GA renfest?

Nope, I never worked the Georgia Faire but I heard about it every year. It's funny, I was working the MD Faire and John Davis would tell me about this great kid named Stuart Levine who worked the GA Faire. 2 years later I go off to acting school in Chicago and guess who I meet? Yep, Stuart. I said, "Hi! You know John Davis!" he laughed and knew who I was too. Stuart was so lucky. His parents flew him back to GA every weekend so he could do the Faire while in college in Chicago. *sigh* I miss the MD Faire. I hear great things about GA though.

hmmm....possibly. My folks live in MD and DC respectivly though, so I would probably stay with them. If I can save up the dough to fly though, I would love to meet you at the Faire. Right now I'll have to wait and see how much I drop going to the Montreal Jazz Festival. *cheering up considerably at the thought of seeing the MD Faire again this year*

I thought the Jazz fest was out, considering the $500 travel and lodging expense. But if you can make it there, Go for it. The MD ren-fest will come around then.
As for your parents, I had wondered why you had the history in Balt/Wash area. Neat. Too bad about GA, it have been up for years too. Ant that is where Andy Irwin (http://www.mindspring.com/~echolake/offutt.htm) plays.
