h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Far FAR to quiet for my kind of news. Apparently phones have been hard things to get lately, which I'm sympathetic of, but I require EXCITEMENT and BUZZING and stuff.

How's your stuff? How's your boy? Is he beginning to deal with the bathroom situation?

Yes, isn't that weird about phone companies - everyone is forced into downtime they didn't want at all.

LOL, my stuff is OK. I am starting a new job on Monday. I hope it's better than the last one (with the card carrying asshole - I should have requested to see my new boss's card)

Andrew is OK - he had only in the last month or so gotten to where he would use the bathrooms with the noisy automatic flushing toilets and I was so thrilled. But then he started kindergarten (deja vu? yes, he started private K last year but this year he is in public school and it turned out he was not ready for 1st grade - and it takes like an act of Congress or something to get around their birthdate rules).

I digress. His new problem is that he just CAN'T go to that new school because he might accidentally swallow something and die. At least that's his story - several times each day as he begs and pleads not to go. I think he's OK when he's there - just trying his level best to talk me out of sending him there.

And I think focusing the fear of the unknown on poisoning has definitely to do with the kitten that almost died from something unknown (but based on my web research it has to have been antifreeze, which dogs and cats apparently love the taste of... anyway, we have NONE here, but the kitten got sick when just arrived here...)

The kitten, btw, is getting HUGE! He has to knock everything down and everything off of everything else, and glasses of water MUST be overturned. Andrew and he seem two of a kind. I can no longer get the house cleaned on the weekends - they're too fast for me.

I'm so thrilled that Andy figured things out! You two will be very happy!

Well I'm glad you have a new job! When you are employed by a card-carrying asshole it's hard to stay positive.

Andrew is probably all nervous that things that he eats will hurt him, (because of the kitty) now, he knows that mom won't hurt him, house food is safe, but what about that scary school? He'll be okay though.

When I was in kindergarten I used to wail and cry every time my mom left me. I even remember some of the times really vividly...but I was fine after awhile. I just have really severe abandonment complexes for some reason. *shrug* Who knows? The point is that I'm sure Andrew will be just fine.

I'm so happy right now. Andy bought his ticket to come to Chicago and I'm off to write about it in my journal.
