Welcome glad to see you’re here *waves*
Hi I’m cal, I’m your friendly neighbourhood <./>ACE</.>. (An <./>ACE</.> is someone who welcomes newcomers to H2G2) H2G2 or Hootoo as we call it, is a living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything, and it's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer Review. Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information.
I have brought you some to eat while you’re browsing.
Here is a useful links page A719840 It will tell you about some of the useful places on H2G2
I recommend that you bookmark H2G2’s <./>front Page</.>, there’s tons of info on there, such as the weeks “talking Point” which you can contribute to, information on the latest entries to join the Edited Guide and much, much more. And so you can keep up with whats happening with the progression of hootoo you should also subscribe to the <./>Announcements</.> page.
And here are some fun places where you can be just plain silly, in between the times when your writing, or thinking of writing, fantastic entries for the Edited Guide A2334007, A3650474

Thanks for the welcome.
Being somewhat of a traveler, I am particularly fond of the fanciful and somewhat dirty view Douglas Adams held of the sport. I am reminded of bars on the Kenya/Sudan border where stumbling clumsily through adventure is the norm, and it is not daring bravery, but pure chance that keeps you alive. Chance can be a funny thing indeed.
It may have been a big joke, but it's hard to deny the gritty accuracy it holds to a penniless traveler in a dangerous foreign land. Getting caught up in all sorts of other peoples' mischief.
That said, I like this idea of a spot to come and write down the things about a place that the travel guides don't tell you. Imagine all the travelers who found out the hard way to avoid hells kitchen in New York, or why it's best not to order steak in India. Any true wanderer, any traveler worth his salt that is, runs into trouble quite often.
Thanks again,
Cheers,
Kennith
