This is concerning entry A196706. I noticed that you were listed as the editor so I am coming to you with this. I don't know what the proper channels normally would be for this.
In the entry ( concerning Halloween ) there is discussion of the Celtic god of the dead Samhain. This is incorrect - there is no such diety in the Celtic religion. This is a commonly held misbelief. I have supporting documentation which can be found at http://www.religioustolerance.org/hallo_sa.htm.
How is this normally handled. Are articles amended or are there new articles that are published with the corrections?
Would appreciate hearing back from you.
Thanks

Well shoot. I just copied the link from my browser just a few minutes before I posted the message. You are right though - when I try to open it from my message I get an error. I'll try a couple of different things to see if I can get the link to work. OK try it now - it seems that you have to be very careful how you post links here. I tested this one and it worked for me in the preview. http://www.religioustolerance.org/hallo_sa.htm

Works fine for me now. Interesting reading - though, of course, I'm not the one you have to convince

All too true. But I do appreciate your pointing out the problem with the link. 404 does not do much for supporting a statement that you have made

I'm sure Anna will deal with your point as soon as possible.
It is funny how urban (or in this case Celtic) myths can become accepted as fact when repeated enough.

Thanks for posting this. We're interested in updating and ammending any entries, we want h2g2 to be as factually correct as possible. I'll get someone to look into this, thanks for posting the URL, Ynw're.
Best wishes - Peta
