Just dropped in. Being very disciplined, I thought it might be wise to say hello as requested: Hello.

Had a look at the "who's on line" bit, found your page welcoming and thought I'd say hello.
I find h2 both nice (the invisible friends aspect, more than research per se) and confusing (just got to get used to the technicalities).
Apart from my own space (you're welcome to pop round if youy want to know more about who you're talking to), I usually hang around the Franglais pages (je suis français myself) and people on my friend's list are Terri&Yoda (my beloved in real life), Loup Dargent, Superdog Monkey and Nyssabird. Know any of them?
VoilĂ !
Talk soon, I hope.

Hey there
Aw - well, I try to be welcoming. I've seen Nyssabird around, but I can't remember where from. She's a busy person! Probably in Peer Review or ask h2g2...
How long have you been h2g2?
Anna

I've been on h2g2 for about 5 weeks and still feel like if I am a newbie (for the very simple reason that I am!) but I'm ok, NO STRESS!
First, because I take it easy: I indulge in various light hearted conversations while finding out bits and bobs and gaining technical confidence which may or may not allow me to contribute in the future.
But also because I've got my own personal Ace to help if necessary as Terri&Yoda (who's rather new as well!) became one yesterday.
Anyway, I'm not shy asking things, so there's no reason to worry.
Let's keep in touch
May the Force be with you (Oops! Wrong film, again...) Erm... Merci pour tous les poissons.

Hello, Anna. Popped in to see you simply coz we share the same name. This is my first week as a member and I think I'm already addicted! I was attracted to h2g2 as a fan of the original HG. I love that the place is so friendly. I've not written much in my personal space yet. Not sure where to start. Reading other people's entries, they're so good. Love your page by the way.

Welcome!
Lovely to get a visit from such a new person! Especially an Anna Don't worry about your personal space, so long as you've got something that's the main thing. I compare it to a new house. At first its unfamilar and not personal at all and quite soon you'll be putting up posters on the walls, and people will be popping in to see you. If you'd like help on adding pictures, for example, then feel free to ask I won't be around much over Christmas, but if you're online and I'm not here askh2g2 is a great place to ask about anything. If you're not technical, what do you do for a living?
See you soon,
Anna

Thanks for the welcome! I work in an Opticians, so the only computer stuff I know is how to use the programs at work... I probably will get some "posters on the walls" soon, but I think I'll find my way about a bit more first. Thanks for the tips.

Had you thought about writing any entries? There's quite a few already about eyes A734933 Determination of Eye Colour, A593679 Laser Eye Surgery Edited and A615566 How to Cross One Eye Edited (a bizarre mix, I know!)
Have a fabulous Christmas
