Salvage Squad....

Researcher 168963

Scouting through the backwaters, I found a small goldmine in U162183

But...he joined before the BBC. So...what are the copyright rules? Can I copy-paste his entries into guide-ML (after checking for plagarism etc of course) and then submit them? I get confused when I find old stuff, so I'd like a general ruling on what I should do, so I know in future please

I wasn't around pre-BBC so I don't know what the T&C's were then, but I don't like to take the risk.

Dear Dastardly,

I had a quick look - I see what you mean. All material on h2g2 now has the same terms and conditions applied to it (both pre and post BBC). We went through everything we had to make sure. You can either submit the entries for review straight off, but because the Researcher looks like they are long gone, and isn't around to make any changes needed, in this case it's probably best to copy and paste the material into a new entry, so you can keep an eye on it. Obviously, don't forget to credit the original Researcher, but that's really all you need to do.

Hope that helps smiley - smiley
Anna
