Anna, I am so happy to hear that you are expecting!
When it comes to advise, I may not have much new stuff to offer, I've only got three kids!
But here's one; You've heard it before, and you will hear it again. But living by it... that's not so easy. Here I go:
Remember that your baby is a baby only once. Do whatever you feel is right. That is, for you and the baby. Not for your employer or anyone else. Cherish every moment with your little one, and try not to let anyone or anything drag you out of that little world the two of you share. (Except, of course, the lucky dad!)
You'll find out that you and the baby form your own universe. And that's a good thing. It's your chance to make that special bond between mother and daughter/son even stronger than it is from the beginning.
Apart from that, depend upon your instincts!
Tom

Aw Tom, that sounds like brilliant advice. I tend to be quite instinctive anyway. I think it's going to be a lovely time for me, the baby and Paul, my husband. He's a teacher and will have six weeks' holiday over the summer...

Lucky him! Having six weeks of holiday over the summer, having a baby during the same summer, and being your husband! What more can a guy wish for?
