Womder what your partner thinks? Pleased some changes will happen.
Editorial procedural changes, a little more accountablity and a lot more transparency. A touch of integrity. Anyway I hope so.

A typical Hutton statement under certain conditions sitting with officials under pressure. I still think the whole enquiry threw open more questions about our government at present.

Questions by the dozen DD. But can you see the unique position the BBC has in global broadcasting? It is THE world standard for billions of people. Do you agree?

That last post is sick. But I'm not going to take it further, don't forget you are using a BBC paltform to are your views.
On the previous posting though the BBC's very position as an public service braodcaster not affected by advertisers political persausions affecting revenue gives it a position and ability to effectively bring government and opposition to account. Especially at the time in question the Conservatives were ineffectual in taking the fight over Iraq to the Government and the redlines in the house may as well have been absent.
Admittedly the way the statement was put across required more editoral control and should have been reviewed properly when it arose. But what would Richard Nixon be if the Washington Post had bnot bravely followed up their allegations. The only vopice challenging Labour over the whole Iraq affair at the time were the Lib Dems who as usual were being drowned out by all and sundry.
Key: Complain about this post
