Sorry to hear you had a bad experience in PR! Just out of curiosity, what were you writing about?
Personally, I think you'd do very well at wildlife articles. You have a knack for describing animals.
I also wanted to point out that the feeling of being ripped to shreds in PR might have been largely subjective... I had an Entry in PR last October, when I was going through a particularly bad patch mental health wise (with me, it's a side effect of something else, though). I eventually took it out because I couldn't stand the criticism and took it all personally, even though going back and reading the thread now, it was all perfectly reasonable and helpful. Some of it was pointing out factual errors that could've been life-threatening were anyone to follow my advice, since it was an Entry about fighting fire!
I suppose what I'm trying to say is: please give PR a second chance when you feel up to it.

Thanks Mala, it was a very long time ago and a lot of people said it was a bear pit in there at that time.
I expect it has changed a lot since then!

Yes - there are still a few rude people in there sometimes, but mostly, they're a helpful bunch - we only get a few people commenting, but those that do take it seriously...
If you don't feel up to it, just wait. And don't take it personally, if someone does criticise you. I was once told an Entry of mine was the worst piece of rubbish ever and that with Entries like that, it was no wonder hootoo was in decline. It later lost the "Entry of the Month" competition by only one vote, so I don't think it can have been as bad as that Just people being grumpy. It's too easy to be rude on the internet!
