hello just read your intro, my old man is an oceanogrpaher at Southampton university (I think thats what its called, they moved from Surrey some years back) er... well anyway I thought I should tell you that, not quite sure why but I did?
Not sure how relevent that is to anything in particular, just thought you might like to know. as it might be pretty similar to what you do.
I am off, a bit of a rambler me, ignore me if you like

Thanks for your message. Oceanography is a neat subject to be in, lots of nice physics, and biology too. I won't mention chemistry, because I don't like it. There are loads of observations from satellites these days, so that we can't go off onto untested joyrides into philosophy like some astrophysicists. I know the Southampton Centre quite well: it looks a bit like a prison, and is very easy to get lost in, but the canteen has great views of the Solent and sometimes the QEII. Anyway, Cheers, M.
