I tried to send you a message but because you don't have anything on your page it's not possible.. you will have to click on to my page 'Discuss this Entry' underneath my pics and send one to me... It would be nice if we were all talking again but maybe you should start another thread...

I appreciate the invitation, but I'm not yet convinced that chatting behind closed doors won't lead to further MISTRUST, and is unlikely to shield you from the crossfire.

Sole it would be just a normal thread, not private, so everyone can read the messages as always.. I only gave everyone the optimum of choices when I sent the initial message.. my private message thingy is not set up yet...

REVOLUTIONISTS... off with their head!

I honestly don't know how to answer it.. you asked what use democracy without regulation... i'd rather you just asked me the question in normal words and will answer it.. my answer was not an opinion but a fact of history..

Rudest Elf Posted Dec 13, 2003
You may well be right, but you still haven't answered the question...
which is fundamental.

well i'm sorry if im a bit 'thick' today but i'm not at my best, my brain is in need of a better supply of oxygen than its getting.. you will need to spell it out for me..

Rudest Elf Posted Dec 13, 2003
To try to answer your point, I would simply say that there is a substantial difference between revolution, which may be qualified, and anarchy which may not. Without codes of conduct (if you don't like rules) what you have is anarchy. We have anarchy.

Oh I see we are back to the 10 letter thread.. but if we stuck to the very basic rules... solve one word and post another word then things would be ok and I wouldn't get irate... you have explained the reason you posted two.. I accept that it wasn't meant to be derogatory to me but at the same time I hope you understand that from where I sat it seemed that once again you were giving the doc the difficult word and leaving me with the little easy one.. hence the outburst..

Of course I don't want to upset you; we are, after all, just words on a screen. But you continue to ignore the fact that obscure words
destroy the game. You ought not to be happy to accept Doc's word, which except for outrageous good fortune, would still be there now.
You have ignored this point many times and will doubtless continue to do so. There is no need to be cross, though. By the way, since no part of my Personal Space is any more private than anywhere else (open to me), there seems little point in opening it to receive messages.

well you can do as you want with your space, but it gives an unfriendly air to those who want to leave you a message.. and sad too as I have had a number of people from all over the world start a converstion just for the hell of it.. thats is how we communicate.. anyway I am not here to tell you what to do.. Has it never crossed your mind that it is the person who sets the arcane words who looks the fool if done on a regular basis.. we have all set words that may be quite familiar to us but to others they do not appear in their everyday lives... I put up the word remittance but I would have as well put up mugwhateveritis because it took everyone an extraordinary amount of time to solve... and anyway we are all at liberty to post a new word after 1 hour has gone by, I think evryone will agree that is ample time to solve it... so you don't need to get uptight with the ones who put u the unusual words you just post a new one and preferrable without comment other than time is up... there are so few of us doing the anagram games so why upset everyone... don't know what your letter to the doc mean but is this not going to flame matters too... and also if you bring Artisan into this as being somebody who posted an arcane word then I 100% know for sure that he is quite happy for another word to be posted if he is not around... so really there is no problem.. all I ask is that we do one word at a time unless it is a simulpost that no one can help... ok i've said my bit.. I'm not cross anymore as I got that out of my system earlier... and I will apologise if letters are missing from this message and any others as my keyboard seems to have its own views on how to spell words..

I think what you are saying is; 1. There IS a one hour time limit rule. 2. You don't mind it when people jump in with odd words and waste up to one hour of your time - why do people derive pleasure from stopping the flow? The fact that the setter 'looks the fool' is of no interest to me...I suspect he wears a smug grin.
I'm sure we all recognise a stinker within a few minutes. 'Difficult' words may be hard to find due to the number of permutations or, more pertinently, might be words which are considered a bit formal, spoken or written by others, but rarely if ever used by ourselves. These words are recognizable. They may be difficult. Thank goodness there are many. No need to torture each other.
By the way, You are surely free to solve any anagram you choose. The fact that the message is for someone else is no impediment.

Sole, I think posting two words when everyone else posts only one can be seen as taking liberties.. and i'm sure others agree with me.. having said that, I will say again that I now realise it wasn't intended to upset me.. but I will always think that one word per go is ample for anyone, no matter what the reason.. i'm sure you wouldn't have liked it if i'd posted a word specially for Artisan and another for 'the rest' meaning you as you are the only other playing.. you would have felt left out of things and that is not nice, even hurtful... I think from all we have said that the one hour timing is acceptable to everyone and i've not seen anyone complain if their word was overtaken... well if I have to be honest on that one, I think you complained once but that was a long time ago before we started discussing times etc.. so I will forget that.. People wo derive please from posting really obscure words could be classed the same as spammers who stop the flow of a conversation just because they felt like it, however, I really don't think the Doc was guilty of that at the time, he saw an unusal word and probably liked the look of it... and I hasten to add that you did get the word.. if I had the energy to get to my computer I may have got it too, as things are i'm stuck on the sofa with the dictionary for the time being... I'm going to have something to eat now so i'm going off line for a short while.. maybe by the time I get back you will have posted something in the 10's... i'm done 'discussing' this Sole, i'm tired too.. Contrary to what has happened today I hate arguments and when you and Gordon were having a go it wasn't funny, I felt uncomfortable being here... so now you have it all.. hopefully i'll be back back a bit later..
