He has written 9 books so far about the Assassin Vlad Taltos; these are being re-published in omnibus form. Set on the same planet but much earlier, he has written 2 books about a soldier named Khaavren and is in the middle of the 3rd which is in 3 volumes; all of these (Khaavren novels, I mean) are sort of loosely similar to "The Three Musketeers" and its sequels.
He's also written some excellent other books of which the one you mention "To Reign in Hell" is actually my least favourite 
When I sort my act out over my Mercedes Lackey page (visit there to see just how much progress I need to make 
) I'll have to do the same "favour" to Steven Brust.

thanks. I liked To Reign in Hell, but it is a bit...easy?
I'll go check out the Taltos stuff as I like reading about assasins.
