h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

You don't know me, but Cyzaki pointed me in your direction. Basically, I'm moving to Japan at the end of August and I'd like to find out more about the country than they put in the guide books. I know a little Japanese and I'm teaching myself kanji and hiragana but advice on this would be appreciated too! Any suggestions or advice you could give would be gratefully received.

Where exatcly area will you come? If you'll come near me, Osaka, I may take you around my area
About my counry,.... like yours the more danger the bigger city is, the more carful you have to go out alone. But maybe for foriegn people live easier in the big city like Tokyo, Osaka, near those cities because there a lot of people from overseas are living/staying.
In some country places, you do enjoy living there, but a very ceartain place (very very very small village) could be a bit conservative... I mean they may not able to understand English.
But nowadays, Education Ministry make an article that pupil will learn English from aged 9 , lots of MOTHERS push/force their poor s to learn English from the very early age (like year2. oh no)
Though I, myself now teach/play Engish to some small kids, I feel bit yuck, cos they don't care their own culure, Japan.

If you know what communication is like, then it's very easy for you to live in Japan... A few Japanese is fine, but try to use Japanese and enjoy our culutre. If you enjoy whatever happened here, you won't be homesickness. If you have an illusion about Japan, then you may disappoint something you imagene about our Japan.

Recently more Japanese can understand English, so as far as language is concerned, you won't be in trouble.
