God's forgiveness

warner - a new era of cooperation

Hi Mr. X smiley - smiley
>>Now Warner, my understanding of you is that as a theist you have no problem accepting that God forgives
the atheists for not believing in him before their deaths. That's all well and good, but you have to remember
that since an atheist has not been convinced of the existence of a God, it follows then that (to an atheist's mind)
there's no God to forgive them in the first place<<

Actually, I DON'T believe that God can forgive the atheists. That's what I was trying to point
out in 'Jesus is coming' thread.
Regards not being convinced of God's existence, see >> F19585?thread=5985941&post=75054495&show=1

smiley - ok But surely, if someone doesn't believe in God, not as an agnostic, but as an atheist,
then the concept of God's forgiveness is meaningless smiley - biggrin

Yep. There's no reason I can't talk about it on a hypothetical level though.

You don't have to specify that I'm the one you're talking to you know, seeings as there's no one else here.

smiley - ok So, hypothetically, if there's life after death, our physical bodies will be decomposed etc,
and the possibilty arises that we can be 'created again', out of clay, or some other less fragile material.

Our 'soul' or mind as you probably prefer smiley - smiley, would then be transferred to the new body.
The same situation exists as on smiley - earth now, except we're naked without any power or possessions,
as The Creator can create smiley - earth again as large, and as many times as He desires. (Infinite capacity) smiley - earthsmiley - earthsmiley - earthsmiley - smiley

So, I suppose you can say it's a bit like sending 'the convicts' to Australia (no disrespect intended!).
Souls don't become magically different, they're basically submissive or not eternally ..

If we were to accept as true the existence of an almighty God; and that your "soul" is capable of surviving without your body.

However, I'd like to point out that clay is far less durable than your body. Even titanium is, in a way, because it has no self-repair faculties.

The primary constituent of bones ie. calcium

Of course, the body could be created again with a 'material' we're not aware of. Some kind of
energy for example. Actually, all material is equivalent to energy, according to Einstein's
famous special relativity theory.
