Correction. George Bush doesn't like POOR people.

When disaster strikes, a political party that prides itself on delegating authority to "Faith Based Organizations" and the private sector isn't going to spring into action. Unfortunately, all of those FBO's are going to wait for George of the Bungle to lead them into the breach, which he is famous for not doing.

We 'Merikans are lucky, we got to try out our Homeland Security system, and darn it, it don't work! There's an estate lawyer in charge of that little pyramid of bureaucacy.

The FBO's? Well, we now know one thing; they don't help or spend money when needed unless absolutely forced to by the people who gave it to them. The "Salvation" Army can be counted on to spend much of it dressing up in their Civil War era navy outfits. It must take at least two days in front of the mirror to prepare for a guest spot on Larry King. At the point of eventual action, prepackaged bottles of water and vinyl packaged meals, ready to eat (MRE's) that were stacked at every National Guard armory in the USA were distributed. A single staff sergent at any of these could have managed this in four hours at the most. Even a CNN helicopter could have dropped a palette of water while buzzing the likely enraged Orleanians on the ground.

A quick look at the Army Corps of Engineers finance requests reveals that every attempt to provide necessary repairs to levies in the last five years was rejected by George and the NeoConzis who dominate all branches of Federal government. Something like this was going to happen, hurricane or no. It's just a shame that Trent Lott's house had to go. I'm sure that wasn't part of the plan.

Hey, it gets better! Soon thousands of poor, mostly black Orleanians will be arriving in probably every major city in America. Homeless and unemployed, they will be expecting to be supported in the style of life that they've grown accustomed to in the Big Easy. Guess who's coming to dinner?-And expecting to stay for a year or so. The last time anything like this happened it was from the forclosed farms of the dust bowl. I think I'll dust off my copy of "The Grapes of Wrath".
