The debate has been raging; Is evolution just a theory (yes, but a really good one that fits observable evidence)? Does the complexity of life demand that rational observers concede that there must be an intelligent architect behind it's existance? Even in the absence of any protocol for testing and observing the presence of this Intelligence, should it be taught to semi-rational youngun's?
NO!
Just to mix things up a bit, I believe in "Intelligent Design". From what I've observed all creation is the result of a definite intelligence, and is is one Evil Mofo.
Life is suffering, sickness, torture and death, often slow and pointless. After millions of years of confronting and resisting the existential reality of the Dark Designer's game, we humans have used the tiny bit of intelligence wrested from it's control, to make a few moments of respite before the inevitable decay and demise.
Never one to be cheated, the Evil Designer has sent it's minions to enslave the children, so that they will propitiate it with their blood and screams. The meagre tools of apprehending that we could pass down to them will be rendered useless. They will end their lives fighting for the Designer's amusement.
