Hi Von Von!

Maybe you could then change your name to 'Researcher Von Von', for example, to show that you're a researcher, and to have a more personalised name? smiley - smiley

Thanks for saying 'Happy Birthday'. smiley - biggrinsmiley - cheers

If you've got any questions at all, just give me a shout. smiley - ok

Quick question: are my journal entries like the entries to the guide in the original books? (you know the things that ford prefect kept writing)

Journal entries are normally used by people more like an online diary! To create an entry like those that Ford made in the Guide, click the 'Contribute' button, then 'Click here to add an entry to the Guide'. smiley - ok

Once you've written the entry and clicked 'Add Guide Entry' to create it, you'll see it listed on your personal space, and you can reach it from there to read or edit it. If you write a very good entry that follows the Writing-Guidelines on a topic that nobody's written about before on h2g2, you might even try to get it into the Edited Guide - a collection of h2g2's official, factual entries. For more information about the Edited Guide, see <./>DontPanic-Editing</.>. smiley - biggrin

No problem at all! smiley - biggrin

It is a very big site, and very complicated to use at first, so don't hesitate to ask if you've got any questions!

Oh, I forgot to explain how to use smiley faces. smiley - doh

On the <./>Smileys</.> page - which you can reach by clicking on any smiley - you can see the codes that you can type into a post to insert a smiley. For example, smiley - biggrin can be inserted using < biggrin > or : - D (both without the spaces). smiley - ok
