It happened...

Well, what a cool day that turned out to be. Woodstack went off with only one hitch, as Hanna's CD went into the wrong player and shae started out her spot singing her finishing number. Still, she caught it, and carried it off, much to the audience's liking. Same must be said of tha absolutely fabulous Soul Street - Bam, lead singer, is a showman at heart. Terry Gorman did superbly, and I've got to say that Suzee, my own flesh and blood, also wowed 'em.
That kinda leaves Gold Dust, (or S Brew Junior, as we like to call them) and Strange Brew. Both bands killed 'em stone dead in the aisles, as it were, never mind the imporomptu acoustic stuff everybody got into later, inside.
Just in case anyone from the bands and acts sees this, my thanks folks - you all did a wonderful job.

I was just sitting thinking about Woodstack - it's happening at the Stackyard pub on Bank Holiday Monday, if anyone's interested. The aim is to raise enough beer tokens to purchase a Dialysis machine for the Sunderland Kidney Patients Group.
They've got a caravan at Haggerston Castle, with three units in it, and they've just bought another caravan. Thing is, y'see, folks that need dialysis generally can't get away for a holiday - hospitals tend to be somewhat overbooked on their own machines, so they can't accomodate guests all that easily. Hence the facility at Haggerston.
It just occurred to me that anyone who likes a pint or two (that includes we musicians and journalists) may well need the services that the SKPG provides, someday. I view this, then, as putting a few pennies away for a rainy day.
Ah well, off to get some new guitar strings - we've got to sound good on the day!

Bank Holiday

Coo - I've just realisewd that in seven days time, I'll be running the Woodstack music fest...
Three bands, three individual acts, a 2pm start and all the sound, lights and everything else to set up. Time, I think, to get the channel plans sorted for the front of house PA. And pray that it doesn't rain on the day.
Meanwhile, off to bed...
