Deathly Hallows - just finished it!
Brown Eyed Girl Posted Jul 21, 2007
I've been catching up on sleep, I'm afraid. I enjoyed it immensely, I loved that Snape was an ambiguous good guy to the last - sure he was on Dumbledore's side but only for selfish reasons. He's long been a favourite because he's such a shades of grey character.
Did you get the impression that Lucius Malfoy copped it at some point? He wasn't mentioned after a certain point but I wasn't aware of whether it said explicitly that he died or not.
Cried like a baby at Dobby's funeral bit. I was sitting there sobbing.
What was your favourite bit?

I was very over Dobby, too.
Too soon to have a favourite bit. Although yes, I did like the whole Snape chapter, suddenly it *all made sense*. I think that was best of all, after all the theories, to finally get to the truth (which seems to have been the theme of the book) was tremendously satisfying.
The bits I immediately re-read were the epilogue, Snape, and the final battle. I was also very about Fred, Tonks and Lupin. I can't believe the official line was Two Major Characters Die - there were far more than two - it was a bloodbath.
There was a point in the middle - the whole Gringotts bit - where actually had to put it down because I was getting so agitated that Harry was being a complete idiot and really shouldn't be doing it *at all*. But this gave me an opportunity to roll more cigarettes
My souvenir t-shirt caused lots of comment in Tesco this afternoon.
I can't wait for DH to finish it so I can read it again!
