hey, thanx for saying hi to me. your page is quite interesting and i often enjoy a good debate. i hate the kind of people who tell you what to believe without giving reasons and hearing your reasons for believing something else. i don't like being told how to be, i like to make conclusions on my own. besides, i believe in things so much more when i come to my own conclusions about them!

Yeah i agree with you, i am a christian and i attend a catholic school, only i belive not that there isnt a god but that the catholic Church is forcing their opinions onto the minds of young impressionable people such as myself and i think that the church should let people in their teens (who are the future of the country really and the religion) decide waht they want to be, because teens are greatly underestimated about their beliefs and most people jsut let them do it but i cant stadn it really, just being forced upon.
...sorry i was talkin to my slef for a while there.. *ponders*

yeah, catholic school turned me off to the catholic religion. i liked the songs, but that was about it. my classmates weren't even genuine people, not from what i saw of them anyways. that's what happens when you sell your soul to catholic school--they turn you into a shell and fill you with their own opinions!

hey, sorry about kicking you out of your own conversation! i really had no intention to . you brought up a very interesting topic though and i'm sure there are tons of people who would want to share their opinions about it. so how's life?

christy Posted Aug 29, 2003
i know what you mean. i started keeping the journals, but the only thing i could think of to write were dreams that i've had. but lately i haven't been remembering enough of my dreams to write anything worth while. it is pretty annoying, but i too will probably have better stuff once i'm back at school. or at least my brain won't be on vacation any more(hopefully).
so what else do you and your friends usually talk about?

You like reading? And in view of your comments about the catholic church would you like something to think about?
Try reading "The Davinci Code" by Dan Brown (ISBN 0-593-05244-7)
It's a thriller - very gripping and fast moving but all about the way the church bends things to suit their purpose.

im not sure who that was to jazzme so ill just say thanks an ill havea look at it.
It totally depends wahts the ggroup talks about, i could start of as a argument with someone and end up on abortion or somthing but it usally ends up on something to do with human rights or morals. kinda thing is the euthensia thing, some one was saying about thier friends dad had cancer an we ended up on the subject, it just kinda flows if you get wha im on about.

hey, thanx jazzme! sounds great.
yeah, my friends and i sometimes get into discussions like that, though being the person that i am i usually gear it more towards animal rights (if you couldn't tell that from the euthensia thread). i tend to get really into it more when it's about animals because i think about animals more than people. cause, well you know, people think about it for themselves and we tend to make all these rules on the basis of what we think would be right for animals. (ok, i'm obviously proving here that i do get way too into it and will stop now). anyways, it is really great when a group of people are together and they can debate civilly with eachother about something that has thousands of viewpoints.

Glad to chat to you both, any time. Can't say I'm into animal rights though - but I do have sympathy with the protection of animals from cruelty - doesn't work in the wild though does it?

maybe not from cruelty, but certainly the protection of habitat can be construed as protection of animal rights. they at least have the right to live i think, as we do.
but yeah, it is always nice to have someone new to chat with

I totally agree with you there Christy
Do see if you can get a copy of that book - I enjoyed it immensley and found so much in it that I had already thought out, then lots more. You'll have enough to talk about for years afterwards.
