Is hoon a druid concept or one that is more modern?

Hoon is first refered to in literature around the time of the crusades. He was believed in by Robin Hood and was attacked as evil by both the catholic and protestant churches in England. Hoon has Druid connections, but I don't think it's a specifically druid concept.

I remember some connection between the Druids and trees that is why I mentioned it.

Yes I think you're right, but not being a druid I'm afraid I can't give you any more info.

How long have you been a researcher here?

Just about a month and a half. I am a university student at Willamette University in Oregon USA studying history. My "era" is antebellum America 1800-1861. I know a very limited amount about Druidism I was just curious.

I wrote a novel about the American Revolution and it's aftermath. It's with a publisher at the moment, they're considering it. It's about thirty years before your interest.

sounds interesting though. I am attending a class on the American revolution right now (for my history major). What perspective do you have? I think it was an English civil war that went bad, kind of like the earlier rebellions in Ireland and Scotland.

It took another war ( the war of 1812) with the same British to really make a country out of us. The cliche I recall most is that, prior to our civil war we were a collection of states, after the civil war we were finally the "United States"

My story is told mainly through the eyes of a small boy growing up in New England. It is a novel, not a history textbook. It was fun researching it.
