I realize for a twelve year old from a western stye school environ your math is not likely to be as good as those brought up much earlier but your 42 just doesn't work unless you choose to bracket some of the numbers. AS is it doesnt match 42. Try again this time with passion!

Hi James,
One other thing to consider (and completely ignore too if you want to 
) is that its often considered 'normal' (whatever that means 
) to find a way of getting to 42 using numbers in the order they appear in your user number
eg (for U238161)
2 + 3 * 8 + 1 + 6 * 1 
= 33
2 + 3 * (8 + 1) + 6 * 1 = 35
2 + 3 * (8 + 1 + 6) * 1 = 47
And when you get yours worked out, tell Argon0 at 'The Myth of 42 - A530560', but note that the page hasn't been updated for well over a year

Sorry, but if you think my school doesn't teach maths well, you've got another thing coming. I mean how many 12 year olds do you know who have learnt quadratic equations, algebra, and simultaneous equations? At the age of 10/11? Please think again. It's just I find it hard to concentrate with the Latin/Greek, that we learn unlike most other schools. Our School is not as bad as you portray.
