I hope I've not offended you by shortening your user name a bit...
..but most of the things that you mention on your user page are actually things we have been discussing over at Asteroid Lil's Atelier quite recently...
Books - check
Cooking - check
Coffee - check
...but not so much about games...
Anyway, if you're looking for a bit of conversation, have a look at the postings over here - we recently started a new thread, so there should not be that much backlog (previous postings) to get through...

And if you, after reading the postings, feel like joining in, then just post, introduce yourself (a few words will do) and feel free to comment on anything!

Thanks, I will try and make it over as soon as I get my laptop sorted out. (kick out a couple of gremlins I think) You have a great page by the way, and it's no problem to shorten my name. I don't mind. I am pretty new to h2g2 so I am still learning the ropes.

Hi again!
I've seen you leaving calling cards at the Atelier lately, but you haven't been posting much - I'm sure we'd all love to hear stories from your coffee shop

I'll try. I think I have been working so much and worrying about the store. We are into our 5th month and it's not as busy as I would like. I hope it's ok that I have added you to my friends list if it's not I will take it off? See you at lil's

Friends list? That's OK with me!
I used to think that I'd love to run my own busines instead of slaving away for others, but I changed my mind when I helped my Flamenco dance teacher to her tax papers - the profit she makes (on dance classes and setting up performances with guest artists from Spain) is marginal (and at the age of 36 she still lives with her mother, because she couldn't afford a place of her own). Flamenco is a way of life for her, it's her passion - but I know she's been thinking every now and then about if it's really worth it.
One of the Flamenco students is an architect, and she told me she takes all the commissions she can get, even if it means she'll have to work from early morning to late at night - because at times there won't always be a lot of commissions, so she has to put aside some money.
That made me appreciate that I do have a full time job (nowadays with no or little overtime) in a company that makes some profit even in the current recession in Sweden - even if my job sometimes bores me no end I know I have a safe and steady income.

I miss the days of being able to put in my 40 hours a week and thats it. Now i work between 75 to 80 hours a week in the store and paperwork at home. At least I still enjoy it, great coffee and great customers.

How long have you had the store?
I guess it all comes down to a question of priorities and balance in life - maybe doing what you want and liking it is worth the price?

only about 6 months + 2 months construction, we are still trying to make a go of makeing it profitable. So much stess but if it works definatly worth the effort. I do really enjoy what I do.

I realized that I haven't seen you online for some time - so I thought I'd leave a link to the latest conversation at Lil's Atelier (soon to be abandonned for a new one, I think, but still....):

Hope to see you around!
