Ya know, if you're going to force the font colour on the page, it's only polite to force a suitable background colour too... I use a "black" skin, and until I hit "select all" I thought your page was mostly blank...

I do force a background color don't I?

THe backgroudn is supposed to always be grey and the text is supposed to always be black. is it not working?

Checking the skins, it seems to work fine... what are you using?

If you're using black on dark grey that would explain it; I'm visually impaired (hence the custom stylesheet) and it just looks like a large area of black with no text on it to me.

But is there anything I can do about that, keeping the grey background?

A paler grey? btw, if you go to a page in "Plain", then click "Preferences", you get the option to set your own default to "Plain" (it doesn't appear in any of the lists in the other skins) and once you've done that you can click "Preferences" again and enter a path to a custom stylesheet. Even with that, I can still see most of it... the plain text is a bit hard to see because it's a brighter grey, but bessides that... There's barely any text on the page anyway.
Aye, though, I'm going to completely remake my space as soon as I find the tiem anyway, so it won't be liek that for long. though I can make the grey lighter...

No, but it overrides the default fonts.

I had a lot of laser surgery done on my working eye; the upshot is that bright areas "spread out" a little. This means that skins like Brunel, with thin black fonts on a bright background, are uncomfortable for me to read because the text appears to "fill in".

I'll put it this way... if you can't read my page, well, you aren't missing anything. There's nothing of any interest on it except for a few links.

That's not a problem - I stole it from somebody else's "Goo Fan Club" widget.

Well I'm not a goo fan, but, that should not really matter...
Maybe its possible to make a brunel one... lookign around the skin, there saren't that many little curves, hmm. maybe alabaster, too.

I think those corners are part of an ancient front page layout, circa 1999, pre-skins.

Oh... they are sort of crude looking. Do you knwo if there are any more?
