So, are you actually still around? I don't think we talked in ages. You're one of the few people I consider 'remnants of the Old h2g2'... for me, anyway, in relation to when I started here. All the craziness, and the HitchHikers Hotel, and all that. There aren't many such people, and I think most of them have pretty disappeared (from h2g2 anyway). It's really nice to see you haven't. 
So, how've you been doing? How's life, the universe and everything?

I did pop in earlier this month for a poke around, I think it was the first time in over a year that I'd posted. So I'd marginally disappeared, you could probably see my big toe if you squinted.
"Remnants of the Old h2g2" *dusts cobwebs from her shoulders* It wasn't like this back in my day. We didn't have all of this fancy new decorating... we had to put up with alabaster, tha'knows!
I'm very well thanks, I've found myself a pizza loving boy to be silly with and we're really happy together (except for when he puts greasy pizza boxes in places where greasy pizza boxes shouldn't be put).
How are you? And what's happened to the old place? We're being kicked out? We were the perfect tennants, the BBC didn't even know we were here! What did we do wrong?! Has 2legs been interfering with the servers again?

Hey. 
It's really nice to have you back, even just kinda. I've been kinda-back a bunch of times, and it's always fun, although it makes me sad to think of all the people that are no longer here.
Also, I've had a look at the new h2g2 skin thingy, and I'm quite happy to stay in alabaster. Always liked that one best. Bright and friendly and easy to use.
And silly boys to be happy with are quite a lovely thing. I'm still holding onto mine... 
when I can, anyway, seeing as we're still living on both sides of the globe. You're lucky to have one you can actually shack up with. Greasy pizza boxes and all...
As for the BBC 'disposing' of us, I'm not really sure what the deal was with that. But apparently they did a new reconfiguration of all the online stuff, and decided we don't fit in with the new decor, and bringing house values down, or something. From the bit I saw about it though things are looking up at the moment, the community is doing some awesome stuff to keep h2g2 alive.
