Destroying the universe is most definately a Good Thing

It needs to be done in order to restore the cosmic balance since there's far too many tv shows, films, video games, and whatnot about saving the universe. It's about time someone got rid of it all.

So, how do you propose we do this then?

You know, yesterday I was thinking of doing a journal entry with the title "Today, I destroyed the Universe" and nothing else.

When I saw this conversation pop up, I thought "Damn, someone's beat me to itsmiley - cross" smiley - laugh

I've not decided on the best plan of action yet. I thought I'd just get the ball rolling and spread the wordsmiley - whistle

Well http://ned.ucam.org/~sdh31/misc/destroy.html is a good starting point. Start small and gradually work our way up to bigger and better things smiley - winkeye

Apart from the "decay" option, it looks likes we'll have to put some effort in. Maybe it's not such a good idea...smiley - winkeye

Is there no "Lazy persons guide to destroying the Universe"?

Do you have anything in mind what we can do instead? smiley - smiley

You'll have to write "Lazy persons guide to destroying the Universe" after you've finished your biography of Bill Murray. smiley - winkeye Talking of which, did you get a copy of Cinderella Story?

I'll drink to that! smiley - cheers

Admit it, you're going to enjoy writing that entry. I kinda miss writing stuff to go in peer review, and really should do something. Sure it has been going on for three years since my last solo entry (if you don't count Zak's ransom entry), so ideally I should write something too. Ah but I'm still trying to claim writing burnout from my uni dissertation. Is that a good excuse?

Yeah, you can milk that for a good couple more yearssmiley - biggrin

I've only written one other guide entry and that wasn't really of much substance. I got really bored and thought I should write something, anything. So I wrote about plastic bagssmiley - laugh

You're right, I will enjoy writing this guide entry. I always put off doing stuff like that thoughsmiley - erm

Nice guide entry smiley - cool Think it's common for everyone (or maybe just me) to put off stuff for oneself. If it's for work, or for someone else I'll put everything into it, even at my own expense. I know I shouldn't but that's just me.

If it's for myself, then I'll put it off for ages. But if it for someone else, work, like you say, I'll start out thinking that I'm going to put my all into it, get everything done as quick as possible. But I usually get most of the way through and think that I can't be bothered anymore, so rush itsmiley - erm

Or, like today, I had a good idea that I thought the person who I was doing a job for would think was good too. But I'd already spent about 4 hours doing something for them and couldn't be bothered to do anymoresmiley - erm Plus I had the idea ten minutes before I was leaving and didn't want to do any overtime....

smiley - erm None of the above reflects well on me. I should delete it.

I can't be botheredsmiley - winkeyesmiley - biggrin

Keep the idea in mind, or write it down. You could tell them the idea first thing Monday morning, depending on caffeine levels and how productive you feelsmiley - winkeye

I know you had a great idea, even if I don't know what it was smiley - winkeye

Can I be cheeky and ask what it was?

Course you can, but it's very boringsmiley - erm

Where I work deals with clients who are brain injured, due to an accident normally, and don't have mental capacity to look after the money they've been awarded by the Court. So, our boss becomes their Receiver and our department takes care of all their money, working out how to make it last for the clients lifetime, taking into consideration all of the support worker fees, case management costs etc (I told you it was boring).

This is where my part of the job comes in. The clients family or whoever's involved in the litligation side sometimes want a breakdown of what money we've received and how it's been spent. So I do a breakdown of what income and expenditure there's been. I do the billing side of things too.

Anyway, with this particular client had been passed on to us by another solicitor and we just found out that he's got something like 400K still on queens bench, that hasn't been transferred into the normal court accountsmiley - yikes The clients family were told about this and wanted an urgent meeting to check where things stood.

My idea was, after doing the breakdown, that the family would want it broken down even more. So I thought I could do another spreadsheet showing exactly how much had been spent on case man, carers, equipment etc. Then I could do another breakdown detailing our bills.

But then I looked at the clock and saw that I had ten minutes leftsmiley - run

You still awake?
