Subbing Nelson
Florida Sailor All is well with the world Posted Dec 31, 2012
Just noted an oops in part 1. The last sentence of Polar Expedition says the ships were paid off in 1753, it should be 1773. I know you have turned this back, but you can get a correction behind the scene better than I.
Thanks

As always on a final read I find a few things I wish I had written better.
The Battle of Copenhagen
>The fleet found the defences at Copenhagen well prepared, between the batteries on the islands were a line of battle ships3, both those ready for sea and hulks with a single pole mast, but all
well armed.
*****
those ready for sea and hulks with but a single pole mast,
The addition of the word 'but' helps imply that they should have really had 3 masts but were placed into action 'as is'.
Trafalgar
last sentence 1st Paragraph
>Nelson was quite pleased that the action should take place on 21 October as his uncle Captain Maurice Suckling had won a great victory on the same date.
*****
on 21 October as his uncle, Captain Maurice Suckling, had won
add commas
Return to England
>As the coffin was lowered into the yacht Nelson's flag was lowered for the last time from Victory's foremast, and another was raised to half mast on the yacht.
*****
I should have more properly said;
Nelson's flag was lowered for the last time from Victory's foremast, and another was raised on the yacht, and then lowered to half-mast.
Just a bit of flag etiquette.
Conclusion
Our final thought
>HMS Victory is still available for tours in Portsmouth Naval Yard, England. Although in permanent drydock she has been preserved and her guns are fired on special occasions8.
Should really say;
>HMS Victory is still available for tours in Portsmouth Naval Yard, England. Although in permanent dry-dock she has been preserved and and is the official flagship of the First Sea Lord. Her guns are still fired on special occasions(footnote 8).
Thanks again.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Mother, please don't over-do on my behalf.

Thank you very much F
S
I find subbing helps take my mind off what's going on in RL, things out of my control. I take solace that she has her faith and she has my dear father waiting for her.
I've tweaked those few things,if you want to check them I'll return it to the Eds
