PCOS - Update

Agapanthus

Hello, smiley - hug all friendly enquiries welcomed, in fact, enquiries welcomed, such a nice change from being TOLD what's wrong with me by people who haven't paid attention to the last ten things I've said, not that I'm bitter about my family, ohhh no...

*ahem*

Anyway. No, funnily enough. The PCOS has currently been relegated to least of my worries. Well, not exactly, as my inability to produce the correct hormones in the correct amounts at the correct time is aggravating the situation. But I now have been discovered to have fibroids and a mess of scar tissue and probably endometriosis as well. Which explains my increasingly horrible symptoms. And which all can be corrected or at least alleviated surgically. Which is GOOD. If it weren't for the fact that NHS waiting lists are so damn long. Not that I blame the NHS, they do their best etc.

*Wait. Waity waity wait wait. Lalalalala. Wait wait wait.*

Have you been told roughly how long the waiting list in your area is for the surgery?

Ag, my niece had endometriosis and was just miserable for years. She finally had a hysterectomy and has felt much, much better ever since. Good luck getting it all taken care of. smiley - hug

Hyp smiley - yikes a hysterectomy? Your poor niece. I hope, in my case, that it won't come to that, as part of me is still delusional enough to fondly imagine I might possibly get a chance to put the newly renovated equipment to the uses evolution finangled them for.

Or not.

But my specialist has now smiley - bleeped up writing to my GP, and the GP hasn't a clue how the specialist wants my condition to be managed until the operation, and the current waiting time is six months, which means I will miss the beginning of my MA, which is NOT SATISFACTORY, and now A Fuss Will Be Made, as it is becoming increasingly obvious that specialist's lack of English was actually a problem and said specialist is not aware that I'm actually suffering here, Bob damn it.

Suddenly feeling distinctly less enamoured with the NHS.

*Flings self histrionically on sofa, with back of hand pressed to forehead*

Lets hope between you all you can get things cleared up and a plan of action for what to do while waiting for the surgery.

My niece already had two kids - the great nephews I am so fond of - so it wasn't as difficult a decision for her. And her health has improved so much that it was a good move. I hope it doesn't come to that for you, Ag. smiley - cuddle

smiley - biggrin Hah! If it weren't for families, we'd have nothing to be bitter about.

What a quandry to be in! Have a hysterectomy and feel better, but give up any chance of pregnancy. Bleah. I don't envy your situation one bit. If you have to go through the hysterectomy, is there any way of saving the eggs?
